While it’s ideal to maintain an attitude of gratitude year-round, this season provides a perfect opportunity for boaters to pause and reflect on their appreciation for the privilege of enjoying the many forms of boating. The team at Atlantic Marinas got together to share their list:

  1. Boating Friends: Boating unites individuals from diverse backgrounds, and their distinctions often fade away when surrounded by water. Boating acts as the adhesive that grants strangers a shared perspective, and it’s not uncommon for boaters who have just crossed paths to extend a helping hand and even cultivate enduring friendships. Consider this: without your boat, some of the friends you have today might never have come into your life.
  2. Mental Health: Finding serenity on deck with the sun kissing your skin, indulging in uninterrupted reading, teaching your furry friend to paddle along with you, or meditating while anticipating a fish’s nibble – these are the moments that make boating special. It’s our opportunity to replenish our inner energies, and it’s often a more enjoyable and budget-friendly alternative to therapy.
  3. Family Time: In today’s fast-paced world, finding quality time for family and friends can be challenging, but that’s where boats truly excel. Whether it’s bonding with your kids on a fishing trip, embarking on cruising adventures with your partner, or treating your parents to a sundown cruise, boats provide us with a compelling reason to come together for FUN and to stay connected.
  4. Chesapeake Bay: Not only is the Bay the biggest estuary in the United States, it’s also home to stunning natural landscapes and diverse wildlife. The Chesapeake Bay offers us a bountiful source of seafood. It is a playground for us recreational enthusiasts, offering endless opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water sports. Its picturesque shores and waters serve as a natural haven for those seeking comfort in the beauty of the great outdoors. Moreover, the Chesapeake Bay and its expansive watershed are home to over 3,600 species of plants and animals, actively contributing to the vitality of our ecosystem and reinforcing the vital importance of its preservation. It’s a hard place to beat!

We love hearing from you. Please share anything we missed that you are thankful for in the comments.
